School Trip to Devon
The land of sun, sea, sand and cream teas – what could be better?
It also boasts the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth, with great architecture, attractions and shopping, as well as friendly towns and pretty villages, lined with gorgeous pastel-coloured cottages.
Such natural beauty attracts walkers, artists, camping enthusiasts and those who just like to sit and gaze. Families love the amusements – from large adventure parks and farm attractions to traditional seaside fun. Discover the great Devon outdoors with watersports, cycling, adventure sports, walking, climbing, fishing, riding … and more. You can learn to surf in the rugged coastline of North Devon, explore the hills of Exmore National Park by bicycle, hike the coastal paths or try your hand at sailing. Don’t forget the English Riviera Geopark, formed over a staggering 400 million years. Geoplay Park is a family-friendly location that has been specifically designed to introduce children of all ages to the English Riviera’s fascinating geological history. Find out where the dinosaurs roamed and how our ancient ancestors lived thousands of years ago!
You can swing through the trees in Haldon Forest, spend the day skiing and snowboarding in Plymouth or visit a zoo. It realty is an amazing place to visit!
Accommodation in Devon is plentiful. School trips can be catered for in three star hotels or, more memorably why not try an outward bound centre? Your students would love it!
Depart School and head to Paignton and spend the day meeting the residents of Paignton Zoo.
Travel on to your accommodation and after allocating rooms and dinner there will be time to explore your surroundings.
After breakfast, pick up a packed lunch and head off to visit Geoplay Park on the English Riviera. The park is designed around the English Riviera’s geological history. In the evening, visit a local restaurant and then walk to the Palace Theatre for a show
After breakfast explore the coastal path at Roundham Head. After a picnic lunch, board the steam train to Kingswear. This is followed by a short crossing to Dartmouth. Once in Dartmouth board a boat for a circular river cruise (approx 1 hour). Return via steam train from Kingswear . Catch a bus to local Torquay and eat in a local restaurant before joining a summer evening ghost tour at Kent’s Cavern.
