Known as the garden of England, this county is an excellent choice for a variety of study options
Many people rush through Kent en-route for the Channel Tunnel and Ferry Ports, this is a shame, as there is so much to see and do in this beautiful county. Kent offer a wealth of historical sites such as Leeds Castle and Dover Castle and Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest Christian churches in England. The coastal town of Margate, home to the Turner Contemporary Gallery, celebrates the life of the painter as well as hosting a continual changing programme of events and the charming town of Whistable, a favourite haunt of artists today and throughout the centuries are wellworth exploring.
Travel to Kent stopping off at Dover Castle for a tour of this famous strategic landmark which played has played a crucial part in protecting Britain over the centuries. After a tour of the Secret Wall Tunnels continue our journey to our hotel.
This morning travel to Leeds Castle for a tour of the house. Surrounded by a pretty mote this fairy tale castle is a lovely place to visit, with an excellent playground and maze.
Today head for Canterbury for a guided tour of the Cathedral followed by a tour of Canterbury Tales that encapsulates Chaucer’s famous tales in an authentic and fun way. There will be time to shop for souvenirs before head back to our accommodation.
This morning spend the day exploring the coast, fossil hunting and beachcombing with local experts. In the afternoon we continue with outward bound activities including shelter building and orienteering before heading back to your accommodation for a barbeque and camp fire to round up the week’s activities.
Time to pack your bags and head off home. On the way you have the option of stopping off at another attraction. Perhaps stretch your student’s legs and test their co-ordination skills with an outward bound activity such as Go Ape or alternatively enjoy a picnic lunch at Bodiam Castle to break the journey.
