5 days 4 nights

A fun packed trip to the French Capital

Paris can be the venue for an amazing school trip encompassing aspect of the curriculum such as Art and History as well as languages. Paris has an amazingly cosmopolitan atmosphere. Stroll from one quartier to another and you can experience a minor global tour, taking in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Arab world in the 13th Arrondissement.

Day 1

Catch the Eurostar from London and arrive in one of the most romantic cities in the world for a school trip to remember!  Leave your bags at your hostel accommodation and take the Metro over to Notre-Dame cathedral for an afternoon exploring this spectacular edifice with its world famous flying buttresses. In the evening, eat at a local restaurant and enjoy the local street performers

Day 2

Explore the city open topped coach taking you past the major sights. In the afternoon view the city from another perspective with a cruise on the River Seine. Top off the day with a visit to a local restaurant and a spooky ghost tour.

Day 3

Climb to the top of Montmartre, the highest point of the city and visit the Sacre Coeur Basilica. The 360 degree view of Paris from the dome is not to be missed! Choose a local park for a picnic lunch . From there it is a half hour walk to the Eiffel Tower. This iconic landmark is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world and is the second tallest in France after the Millau Bridge. The view from the top is outstanding. Enjoy your evening meal in one of the excellent local restaurants.

Day 4

Visit the Louvre and join the “Welcome to the Louvre” tour which provides an introduction to the museum’s most iconic works including the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo. There are 15 cafes and take aways in the Louvre so choosing lunch shouldn’t be a problem!

Day 5

Have a leisurely breakfast and pack for the return journey. Before leaving spend the morning in the Paris Catacombs – a strange underworld which isn’t as spooky as it sounds, despite holding the skeletons of six million Parisians! It is a great place for understanding the history of Paris. Grab a takeaway lunch from a local outlet and head back to the UK.
